Contemporary Chinese Art- another kind of view

DSL Collection

"The first modern art exhibition in China was held in 1989 at National Art
Museum of China. Modern art is fairly a disputed topic at that time, and Chinese government is not supportive to modern art.
Due to the incident of gunshot ?C as a schemed plan with another artist Tangsong,
artist Xiaolu shoot two bullets at ??Dialogue??, an installation artwork made by both of them, which led to the shutting of the exhibition for a time.
In spring at the same year, started the famous students activity ,1989 as a
turning point for the development of society and modern art.

This work refered to ?Snow on X,X,1968??(by Cheng conglin),which is a piece of well-known artwork on the history of Chinese art. It contemplated the violence among the youth during the Great Cultural Revolution and was considered as the manifesto of "trace art".
I made some substitution and supplement with this artwork as a original frame by editing and pasting on computer. It was not carefully done and maintained its crude quality. This is accordant with the atmosphere of the time. Spurt paintings were printed on the lamp box cloth, and some modification was done with propylene."
